Ah, thank you so much for telling me. I just can’t understand why anyone would bother going through all the trouble editing the graphics in order to gain followers or whatever reason that blog has. Found both of my gifs, here, here and many of my older ones as well. I’ve never reported anyone though, so I don’t know how I’ll do that, but I’ll try to look it up.

Hello! I have some golden rules when it comes to creating gifs:

1. Try to gif moments from videos with the highest quality as possible. My own graphics comes from 720p/1080p HD blue-ray rips and they take up around 5-10 GB each but it’s totally worth it in the end!
2. Always start with lowering your FPS (frames per second) when you’re opening a video. I use photoshop to do that and it works much better than manually delete the unnecessary frames by hand. Here’s one tutorial, and I really recommend using that technique. 
3. Things that doesn’t move in the original video shouldn’t move in your gifs either! Try to freeze the parts of the screen that isn’t important or eye-catching, for example the background. There are tons of tutorials how to do this and here’s one of them. It’s much easier to do this with animated videos since everything is drawn or computer made so the creators try to save as much time as possible by freezing parts of the animation almost in every scene. That way they don’t have to put so much effort into animating less important object and such right?

That’s about it but since you mentioned that your gifs go all blurry I suggest that you should also be looking at different sharpening options? There are a lot of different methods to use but what I do is that I open the raw cropped out scene in photoshop, resize, duplicate the animation layer, sharpen the source and put the copied layer to 34% Fill. By doing that you can still keep the sharpness of the video but it won’t look TOO sharp either. I’m not a fan of too sharp edges but that’s my personal option.

Ah, maybe I should just try to make my own tutorial… but there are so many gif tutorials on tumblr already (✧≖‿ゝ≖) Oh well, please ask if you want me to explain anything with more details!

Ah! Really? I’m glad! ❤ I worked so hard editing and bringing out the pretty colours but tumblr kept giving me the ‘Error uploading photo.’ sign, so I had to reduce the quality more than I wanted to in the end. (◞‸◟ㆀ) It’s annoying trying to please tumblr’s strange uploading rules.
